Hi. I enjoyed your article and thank you for the websites. I self published my first and only book, Resumes for Children, and have gotten some great reviews. I have not begun to look for a traditional publisher as yet because I would like to see how far I can “push the envelope” on my own. Again, thanks for the info.

Judy, I have two books ready to publish. Both are about the history of my area of Florida. People tell me that there is not market for local history. One book is on drag racing in the 50′ and one on the forming of a YMCA in the early 60′s. I started another book on the centennial of our town but have stopped since I don’t where to go next. Question– and I value your opinion. Do you believe that it is necessary to have a “airport size” paperback product available as well as hard cover and a larger paperback in order to get attention from distributors?

I read your article and woud like to know who published your book. I have a children’s book ready to publish. I also have 16 color illustrations for this little book. It is hard to find a self-publisher, who is reasonable, to do a full color children’s book. I want hard back for my grandchildren. Do you have any suggstions?

Hi Judy,
I self-published in 2001(IT LOOKS EASY! IS IT?) and have written two more books that will be coming out in 2010, again, self-published. Since it has been a while, I am now reviewing and looking at changes in the self-publishing field. I enjoyed reading this article and thanks for posting the web sites at the end. I will check them out.
Have one question. You do not mention your book(s) or list your web site? By the time you get this I will have “tracked you down” and find it, but I would think that everytime you write anything you would list your book or web site.
