Return of the Lost Client
There is an 80/20 rule in business that says that 20% of your customers provide 80 percent of your business.   What happens if one of your big clients defects to the other side?   First step is to find out why they left.   Ask for a meeting and listen to what they say.   Take lots of notes and don’t be defensive. Then ask them what you would need to do in order to keep their business.   If it seems doable, act on it immediately and reclaim them as a client.   If their request is outrageous, thank them for their time and tell them you will get back to them with a counter offer.   If they are still unhappy, thank them once again and let them know the door is always open.   Who knows, maybe they will find out for themselves that the grass is not always greener and come back on their own accord.   Although you may feel resentful that they left in the first place, make an effort to put your feelings on the back burner.   Your financial success could be determined by their return.   Make sure you make them feel welcome.
Remember you are the star of your own performance.   Turn your passions into profits.
