Building Trust
Building Trust
Everyone likes to be respected and listened to. If you want to be successful in publishing you’ll need to build an attitude of trust. People want to be around and work with those who are sincerely interested in them. By honestly caring for your authors, employees, vendors, editors, printers, wholesalers, distributors, etc. , you build strong lines of communication and trust, thus selling more books. How can you build relationships on trust and have a very human connection? Try the following strategies:
• Be yourself:
• Open up
• Be passionate
• Find a personal connection
• Have simple and clear messages
• Listen to your audience
• Keep your word
• Return phone calls and emails
• Practice, practice, practice
• Keep in mind that each person you are dealing with at that particular
moment IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PERSON, so be interested
Remember you are the star of your own performance. Turn your passions into profits.
